The Art of Possibilities 2009
It's a Spiva tradition and a great way to gain clarity on
your 2009 goals while creating a visual reminder you'll refer
to throughout the year. Ann Leach, a life coach and author
of the book Goal Sisters, will guide you through a goal-setting/collage-making process
designed to assure you that your life will be mighty fine
in 2009! Space is limited!!! Sign up early.

Painting from a Photo with Jim Bilgere
Students will learn how to use their own photos and turn them
into an
oil or watercolor painting.
After moving to Vienna, Austria in 1995, Jim studied
European art in its true element as well as the current trends
of European art. Don’t miss this two-part series of
painting workshops taught by a world renowned artist.

Storytelling Vessels: 2 Part Class
Students will use hand building clay techniques to create
a vessel form, then
enhance it with bas relief sculptural techniques.
Students will use real fired clay instead of air dry.
Follow up day to apply glazes is January 24, 3-5pm.

Jewelry Making the Calder way
This class will explore the work of Alexander Calder and some
of the techniques he used to make his jewelry. Brass or copper
wire will be provided along with various hand tools. If you
have a favorite hammer, pair of pliers, or wire cutters feel
free to bring your own.

Art in the Afternoon! The Journey:
Letting your life be expressed through your work
Join clay artist Jed Schlegel on his recent journeys of clay
and whitewater river trips.
This slideshow and lecture are part discovery of exactly how
intertwined life and work are, and part encouragement to other
artists to explore their own themes and progression in their
work. After the lecture, Jed will offer a guided tour of Clay
Nation, the current exhibit of his personal collection of
work by contemporary clay artists from across the nation.

Focused on “Art as Revolution” and how artists
used their work to reshape the way we look at art and the
world. Jim Bilgere will give a lecture on artists and their

Bohemian Paris (1910 -1930) and the 1980’s New York
Art scene.

Spiva offers lots of classes, but enrollment is limited!
Enrollment is on a first-come, first-served basis with full
payment. Classes may be canceled due to limited enrollment.
Tuition is non-refundable unless class is canceled by Spiva.

during business hours: Tues–Sat, 10-5; Sunday, 1-5 p.m.

to the AT&T Main Gallery and the Regional Gallery is by
voluntary contribution. Suggested donations are $2 for Adults;
